We had a great breakfast this morning. Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle was our speaker. We gave him a certificate stating that we were donating a children’s book to the Aloha Community Library in his honor. The title of the book is “Balloons Over Broadway.” The Mayor then presented the book to Doug Hoy, President of the Aloha Community Library Association. Eric Squires, a member of the board, was also present. The Mayor gave us an update on what is happening in Beaverton regarding business and jobs. Thanks for sharing your positive information Mr. Mayor!
Next week, Doug Hoy will give an update on the library. After breakfast, members of the club will head over to the old Bally’s building to help load up a truck to move the library supplies to a new location. Come and join us at the Peppermill in Aloha (Kinnaman & Farmington) next Thursday at 7:00 AM.

We had a great time at the Christmas party/dinner. Bob did the usual “switcheroo” with the rules for the gift exchange. Susan brought her friend along to share the evening with us. We were also entertained by Red Green (not actually him, but Wally read from his book the section on “How to Liven Up a Party”). Most people kept their original gift pick except our newest member, Dalton, lead the gift exchange by making Alan switch. There were other casualties as well. It was a great evening.

After the preliminaries, Marv Doty gave a quick history of Pearl Harbor Day. Good job Marv!
Then we had a couple of birthday boys (Bob & Alan). Bob reminded us that he shared a birthday with Francis Mijo, our gone but not forgotten member. The guys wore silly green cones on their heads and TRIED to sing “Happy Birthday.” Alan lit a birthday candle inside a fish? candle holder.
We had a scout stop by to deliver Christmas centerpieces and wreaths that were ordered the week before. This will help him raise funds to attend the upcoming National Jamboree.
We also presented our newest member, Dalton, with his pin and name badge.
It was a great morning. A REMEMBER…We will not have a breakfast next Thursday (Dec. 13th). In instead we will have our annual evening Christmas Party at the Peppermill, 6:30 PM. Bring a wrapped gift (value no more that $15.00) . Also, bring along some non-perishable foods to donate to the Hope Pantry and a healthy tip for our server, Fernando. Dinner will be buffet style. Hope to see you there!
