At the Breakfast Today

Squires

Eric Squires spoke about the Community Affairs Forum.  Good stuff Eric.

Marv Thompson spoke about the Memorial Day Service on Monday.  Considering it was raining, a good crowd showed up.  You can read the story in the Oregonian.

Don’t forget to sign up for the Dean Mitchell Scholarship Dinner on Thursday night, June 20th.  Click here to indicate your attendance.

Next week we will feature our Business of the Month.

Optimists Respond to Moore, Oklahoma, Disaster

We have an Optimist Club in Moore, Oklahoma.  I don’t know how they were affected but we have a contact name and address.  The Beaverton Optimist Club will be sending out messages of encouragement.  We will gather the messages at tomorrow’s breakfast.  If you can’t attend, please post a comment on this blog and we will include it along with the others.

Here is a message from Optimist International:

May 22, 2013 — The Optimist International organization and its Members were deeply saddened to hear of the loss of life and devastation caused by Monday’s tornado in Oklahoma.  Optimists would like to extend their heartfelt condolences to the victims and families during this trying time.  Optimist Clubs and Members are encouraged to help with relief effort by donating to the American Red Cross or other relief agencies.  Our deepest sympathies go out to all those whose lives have been affected. (Copied from the International Optimist website).

Let us remember our fellow Optimists and all of those affected by this tragedy in Moore, Oklahoma.
